Over 1,000 spectators showed up in Huntington Beach on Sunday to watch the third annual Surf City Surf Dog Competition. Action packed with crazy dog outfits and five canine competitors trying to surf all on one board, a great time was had by all.
Top honors went to Abbie’G, an Australian Kelpie, and all dogs received a medal for participation. However the real winners were several local animal charities such as the Southern California Bulldog Rescue, the Orange County Humane Society, Westie Rescue of Orange County & Beyond, Surf Dog Ricochet and Huntington Dog Beach. Oh, and the fans of course! Who doesn’t love watching a pitbull hang ten?
