Before I tell you anything about this story, I just want to start this out by saying adopt a dog. I mean, I know if you are on this site, you already may have, but we need to give as many dogs as we can the great lives they deserve. That is what this story is about. A dog in a shelter for ten years, probably void of any hope at all, suddenly finds a family and the life it deserves. I really like the dog stories that have happy endings.
His name is Gordon, and he ended up at Sunny Meadows Rescue in 2003 as a little puppy. The thing is, all the other dogs around him came and went, and for an entire decade, no one took Gordon. There is no solid reason why, either. He is an incredibly sweet dog with an adorable face and even sweeter disposition. But for ten years, that is just how fate played it.
Don’t worry, I know that is sad to think about, but he was loved and well taken care of at Sunny Meadows. Regardless, this story has a very happy ending, as I eluded to earlier. A family walked into the shelter in November and fell in love with Gordon the moment they saw him. The irony being, the people at the shelter had spent so much time with Gordon, they were almost sad to see him go. Their sadness was beaten out by the happiness of knowing Gordon was finally going to get the loving home he deserved but somehow could not manage to find for such a long time. It is the kind of story that puts a tear if joy in your eye.
