The Cardigan Welsh Corgi is a Very Adaptable Dog Breed

Cardigan Welsh Corgi

When it comes to small dogs, one of the smartest and fastest on their feet is the Cardigan Welsh Corgi.  Once used as a herding dog, these short legged but super-fast animals are really impressive to watch while they are at work.  They have been known to be able to herd a large amount of sheep without losing a single one.  This is probably why they are still seen on working farms today.  But these popular dogs can also be seen in major cities as well.  People really love these cute little dogs and for many years they have been the pet of choice for the people of Great Britain.  While there are a few of these dogs in other parts of the world, these dogs are owned by a large portion of the U.K.

When it comes to living condition these dogs can live just about anywhere.  While they love to live and work on the farm, they are also just as happy living in an apartment in the city.  They are great both indoors and outdoors and can adapt to all kinds of environments. But make sure if you get one of these lovely dogs to give them plenty exercise.  They love to be walked and if done daily they will be extremely thankful to you. While they love to run openly without a leash it’s probably best to keep them on one.  Unless you have a fenced in area for these dogs to play in so they would not to get into trouble because they love to chase things.  This can be very dangerous if they start to chase cars on the street.

One of the most loyal of all dog breeds, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi will attach themselves to one person. They simply love to be around who they claim as there owner and will follow them everywhere.  So if you are thinking of owning one of these fine pooches, make sure to keep in mind that you are probably going to have to show them lots of love and attention.  Sometimes these dogs take to children that live in the household rather than the adults and can be very protective over them. These dogs make great family pets and will keep your children busy playing all day long.  So if you are thinking of getting a new pet, why not consider one of these dogs?
