The German Shepherd Great Dane Mix is the Perfect Protective Dog Breed

One of the largest of all new designer dog breeds is the German Shepherd Great Dane Mix.  This very big dog can really make heads turn when people see them being walked down the sidewalk.  These massive canines can weigh up to 120 pounds and can reach a height of 28 inches tall.  Depending on the mother and father of the animal, coat colors can range from black to light brown. The German Shepherd Great Dane Mix makes a great family pet but if an intruder is lurking outside they better watch out.  While this breed of dog is very docile around members of the family they are very protective when the family becomes threatened.  This makes the German Shepherd Great Dane Mix the perfect family friendly watch dog.

Good around other pets

Not an overly aggressive dog, the German Shepherd Great Dane Mix does well around other pets this includes other dogs.  So if you already have a few pets in your home and want to add one of these lovely dogs to your family, you shouldn’t have an issue.  But remember that every dog is different so make sure to keep a close eye on any new dog you bring into the home.

These dogs need lots of room

While many people keep these lovely dogs inside, you are going to need lots of room for them to feel comfortable.   So if you have a tiny apartment, the German Shepherd Great Dane Mix might not be the best choice.  But if you live in a three bedroom home with a fairly good sized yard then this breed just might make the perfect pet for you.  Remember before bringing any large dog breeds into your home make sure you have the time to take up with the animal.  This means you are going to walk them at least twice a day and provide them with plenty of exercise.

A low maintenance dog breed

When it comes to general maintenance, the German Shepherd Great Dane Mix is really easy to care for.  Having short hair, this dog breed only needs to be brushed once daily.  You won’t have to take many trips to the groomers with this canine.

So if you are looking for the perfect protection dog that will fit right in with the family, the German Shepherd Great Dane Mix is the one for you.  A very laid back animal that is ready when he needs to be makes this dog breed one of the best around.
