Gia’s life was not always so amazing. When she was a younger dog, someone dropped her off at a shelter after she was found as a stray dog roaming the streets of Manatee County. She had no family, no home and she had no one to love her. That’s until the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office stepped in. The sheriff was looking for a dog to train to track down child predators. They needed to train a dog who would later join only nine other dogs in the world with this very unique and very helpful training, and she would become a hero. Instead of buying a dog, however, the sheriff thought that adopting one was a smarter, more helpful thing to do.
Now Gia is one of ten very highly-trained dogs in the world that is capable of sniffing and tracking down small electronics that child predators hide their inappropriate behavior on. She can find it in a matter of seconds and help her partners take down the people who are harming kids, using them for things that they should not and behaving inappropriately. She is a wonderful dog that has the best personality, and she’s highly professional on the job. Her job is to save lives; children’s lives, and she does it with ease and with happiness. When she’s not on the job fighting crime, however, she’s a loving, playful dog that just loves to have a good time and get as much attention as possible.
