Remember the adorable German Shepherd from the Harry Potter movies? Well, he wasn’t a CGI character. The dog is in fact real and is in need of help. Berry, the 10-year-old black German Shepherd that played Padfoot in the “Harry Potter” movies, is up for adoption, and the requests are streaming in here in the U.S.
Turns out that Berry was given up for adoption because his current owner and trainer Paul Thompson couldn’t afford to keep him and his companion dog Porridge, a 13-year-old German Shepherd.
The two puppies are expected to be taken as a pair. Right now they belong to the German Shepherd Dog rescue. Lizzy Brown, one of the organization’s dog coordinators, estimates at least 100 people have offered to take the dogs so far, many of them from the United States.
It’s anticipated that even more offers will come in after Berry makes his first TV appearance.
