A Dog and an Elephant Share an Amazing Friendship

Dogs seem to be able to get along with everyone, not only their human pals. While they are often referred to as “man’s best friend,” they are more like everyone’s best friend! From cats to fellow canines, dogs can get along quite well with just about anyone. And who can blame them?! With their sweet, affectionate demeanor, it’s no surprise that dogs are easy to get along with. One of those other animals that canines get on with are elephants. While that isn’t a common friendship we saw much, it’s real. In a viral video going around, a dog and an elephant have forged quite the friendship!

In the video below, Bubbles the African elephant and Bella the black Labrador (both females) have become the best of friends. The two animals are both residents of the Myrtle Beach Safari in South Carolina and have since been spotted playing with one another. The video starts out with Bubbles walking along with a woman (presumably a caretaker or trainer) on her back, with Bella running around in front of them. Later on, the video shows footage of the duo playing around together in the water. At one point, Bella gets on Bubbles’ back, with both of them looking happy and content. In another scene, Bubbles plays with Bella using her trunk. Playing in the background is a modern day acoustic rendition of Randy Newman’s “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” – the perfect and most fitting song!
