15 Top Dog-Friendy hotels and Inns in the United States

A publisher of dog travel guides has announced its 2013 list of the Top 200 Dog-Friendly Places in the United States. The list is broken down by state and includes at least one dog-friendly destination, activity or attraction in each. The site is called Dogfriendly and we’re really glad this site has been introduced to us. The publisher also included 18 hotels and inns on its list, some of which were chosen not just for allowing dogs, but for “amenities like doggy room service, dog activities, pet sitting and welcome baskets for dogs.” We listed 15 out of the 18 that we thought were the best. We hope you get a chance to stay at one of these!

Westward Look Resort: Tucson, Ariz. This resort comes highly recommended from one of Dog Friendly’s readers. They said it was the most pet-friendly resort around and they can’t say enough good things about it.

Cypress Inn: Carmel, Calif. There is a $25 per day pet charge but apparently it’s well worth it.

Stanford Inn by the Sea and Spa: Mendocino, Calif. Four Diamond small resort especially designed to accommodate travelers with pets.

Loews Coronado Bay Resort: Coronado, Calif. On a lush, private 15 acre peninsula, Loews Coronado Bay Resort is a blissful Pacific oasis, with easy access to all the attractions of San Diego.

Dog Bark Park Inn: Cottonwood, Idaho. Definitely a unique traveling experience! The inn is built into the shape of a 30 foot tall Beagle and its 12 foot tall puppy

Paris Las Vegas: Las Vegas. Their PetStay program also includes food and water bowls, doggy treats, and a pet mat. To verify pet information directly with the hotel call 702-946-7000.

The Glynn House Inn: Ashland, N.H. No more than 2 dogs per room. Pets must not be left in your room in your absence. THey charge a $30 pet fee per dog and require a $250 fully refundable deposit, which is taken upon booking

Adventure Suites: North Conway, N.H. Dogs must be at least 1 year old, quiet, and very well behaved as there are other animals on site. Dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after at all times, and dog depots are provided. Dogs may not be left alone in the room at any time

Sheraton Atlantic City Hotel: Atlantic City, N.J. One dog up to 80 pounds is allowed for no additional fee; there is a pet waiver to sign at check in.

Daggett Lake Campsites & Cabins: Warrensburg, N.Y. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome in the RV Park and the cabins. There is no additional charge for pets in the campground and a $50 cleaning fee for cabins. Proof of rabies shots are required in the campground and fleas control in the cabins

Audrey’s Farmhouse: Wallkill, N.Y. Dogs of all sizes are allowed for no additional pet fee. Dogs must be well mannered, leashed, and cleaned up after.

Biltmore Estate: Asheville, N.C. Dogs of all sizes are allowed throughout the grounds; they are not allowed in buildings. It is up to individual stores whether a dog is permitted inside. Dogs must be under their owner’s control, leashed, and cleaned up after at all times.

Buffalo Gap Guest Ranch: Medora, N.D. Dogs are allowed for an additional one time pet fee of $10. The Sully Creek State Park surrounds the ranch. The 120 mile long Maah Daah Hey Trail also passes by.

Loews Philadelphia Hotel: Philadelphia. Dogs are allowed for an additional one time pet fee of $25 per room. They also offer a VIP Pet Program for their canine visitors that include a gourmet room service menu, specialized bedding, dinnerware, a toy, treats, pet food, waste disposal bags, and info for local dog friendly venues.

The Blue Dory Inn: Block Island, R.I. Dogs of all sizes are welcome for an additional $25 one time fee per pet. Dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after.
