Houston, Texas had recently faced major flooding as well as other parts of the state. Several people lost their lives during the historic flooding as well as many animals. But one dog in the Houston area was saved before he could become a victim. It all started when a rescue group was combing a rain soaked neighborhood and noticed a dog under a house. The group approached the home owner who claimed that the dog was hers. The leader of the rescue group asked if it would be ok if she could take the dog and find it a proper home. The homeowner refused to surrender the animal and they left.
Sometime later the rescue team came back to the address and spoke with the homeowner once again. She explained that the dog was going to get hurt roaming the streets and the canine was soaking wet from the recent rains. After speaking with the homeowner in Spanish, the rescue group left the home and it was not clear if they could take the dog. But just down the street the dog was found roaming around without a leash and soaking wet. The leader of the rescue group was verbally upset and was going to take the animal under her control because it was on the street and not in a safe environment.
After trying to lure the stray puppy into their grasp, the group used some dog food to get the dog to come closer. They were finally able to get the dog into their hands and they used a dry towel to remove the rainwater from the pup’s fur. The dog seemed really thankful to be dry and was very shy. It turns out that the canine is only 5 months old and had spent its life roaming the streets in between living under the owner’s home. There are several other dogs that the group is looking for but they were not able to find them during this video. But at least they were able to rescue this beautiful little puppy.
