We have said it before, and we will say it again (and again, and again): Fire fighters are the truest heroes to animal lovers. I would go so far as to say they deserve a national holiday recognizing that fact. It’s easy for me to say, because I write these articles for this site every day, and every day I am mentioning how one or two or two dozen fire fighters are saving the lives of dogs (and countless other animals) all the time. Like this case where a massive kennel fire broke out in Massachusetts, and every single animal was saved.
A quick shout out to my home state and the town I used to live, many years ago (holla Marshfield Massachusetts!) and their amazing fire dept and first responders who reacted quickly to the call they got about a kennel fire this past week. You can visit the Facebook page of the Kennel and lend your support to them through social media. They are a residential home that also doubles as a kennel, and that made it easier for the rescue workers to come in from the side not engulfed in flames and rescue all the dogs. Yup, all fifty plus dogs were saved. See what I mean about fire fighters deserving a national holiday?
I may just send them a personal thank you letter, from all of us. The loss of one dog is awful. To even fathom the loss of 50 plus dogs is beyond devastating. Thankfully, due to the some brave men and women, that did not happen.
