An Abused Pitbull Finds a Loving Home With New Family

After being so horribly abused, a pitbull has finally found the loving home she so much deserves, and justice has been served to her abusers. Miss Harper was initially found this past September extremely abused; the people who hurt her had cut off both of the dog’s ears as well as her back leg. Three people have been implicated in the abuse and have been arrested and charged with animal cruelty for the horrendous things they did too the poor, helpless canine. As for Miss Harper, she has been found a loving forever family in Long Island, New York.

The abused pitbull ended up receiving care at Huntington, New York’s My Pet’s Vet after being found horribly injured. She was then put up for adoption and the popular dog ended up receiving thousands of applicants who wanted to adopt her. To get her nice and ready to be adopted, the kind people at My Pet’s Vet tried to give Miss Harper a prosthetic leg – something that didn’t seem to fly with the pitbull. The dog’s rambunctious personality seemed to clash with that idea, so that was out of the picture. Instead, now that her wounds have healed, she’s learning to get around on just three legs and is quite successful at it.

A lucky family from Bellmore named the Roberts have been selected to be Miss Harper’s new loving family, who have ensured that the canine will receive the love and utmost respect that any family member deserves – human or canine.

“We applied and we were fortunate enough to get the phone call,” said Stephen Roberts, who is Miss Harper’s new human dad.  “She was introduced to our other dog, we have a three-year-old pit bull.  She stayed with us for a few days and everything worked out and then she ended up staying.”

It sounds like the perfect loving home for all that the canine has gone through. As for the three people who are accused of abusing the pitbull – they are due in court for a hearing next month.
