It’s Almost Time for Flea and Tick Season

Ah, the warm weather is almost upon us. Longer days are here, which means more sunshine, which means more time outside, which means more problems associated with being outside. Yup, though no one wants to say it, and no one wants to think about it, flea and tick season is pretty much almost here. This means you need to be extra careful and extra cautious, and pay extra attention to your dog’s coat with them come back inside. Though it may seem like a simple problem, ticks can lead to Lyme disease, and that is no joke when it comes to dogs.

I know we are a little bit early with this post, but we all know the first buds of Spring will be popping up, any day now. Granted, it is 20 degrees today, but it is supposed to be (no joke) around 60 tomorrow. The further we get into March, the more time the dogs are going to be getting outside. So what do you do to prevent fleas and ticks? Well, we are not quite there yet, so no need to go into crazy detail. We just want dog owners to be aware that flea and tick season are on our door step, so it might be a good time to start preparing. Holistic and organic flea and tick sprays are great, and we will even have some future articles where we teach you how to make some healthy, cheap, home made remedies to flea and tick season.

So for now, enjoy these longer, warmer days, but don’t forget what is waiting, just out of reach.
