As many of us on this site have said, many times over, there is a perfect breed for every kind of person and personality. We often think the worst thing someone can do is just get a dog because it is cute or has a bubbly personality. The best idea is to take some time and make sure you are getting the breed that best fits in to your lifestyle. With that in mind, we decided to do a quick write up about the best dog breed for runners. Though “the best” is purely opinion, as there are many great breeds for runners.
So what is the best breed for runners? Well, there are few, like we said. The Jack Russell Terrier loves running, and can keep up with almost anyone. Border Collies are known for their love of movement. We could go on and on (we will do a full sized list about it soon), but we think, for number one vote, it should go to the Weimaraner. These dogs can adapt to any situation, are great navigators, and love the energy of being outside and being active. They are also easily trained, and end up being great family dogs, so really, it is a winner all around.
Doesn’t hurt either that Runner’s World had some praise for them, too. I never realized that some people called this breed “the grey ghost” for how fast and how lovely their coat is. See, even we learn something new every day at this site.
