The Border Collie Golden Retriever Mix Is The Perfect All-Around Dog

Border Collie Golden Retriever Mix

What do you get when you cross two of the most famous working dogs?  A really beautiful animal that is not only highly intelligent, but also very appealing to the eye.  There are many different hybrid working dog mixes out their today.  But one of the smartest and most elegant is the Border Collie Golden Retriever Mix. These lovely dogs come from two very easy to train canine breeds and can easily be worked with.  In fact, many dog trainers are starting to train these dogs as service animals.  This particular cross seems to work well around those in need and loves to help their owners move around safely in the world.

The life expectancy for these canines is generally 10 to 15 years, but many live much longer than that.  These dogs are great for those looking for a long term commitment and a companion that will be by their side, for many wonderful years. When it comes to size, these dogs are on the larger side and some males can reach upwards of 75 pounds.  Although they are bigger dogs, they don’t seem to mind being kept indoors, as long as they get daily walks.  Many city dwellers are starting to own these dogs and they can even be kept in an apartment.

The temperament of this hybrid mix is very even and well-rounded.  They don’t get angry very often and they seem to get along with just about anyone they meet.  When it comes to a dog that is best suited for the family, this is probably one of the best.  They love children and even tolerate other animals in the home.  This is why you see them often in homes with smaller children.

No matter what your reason for wanting one of these dogs, they never disappoint.  From being a working service dog to a lifelong companion, these canines are some of the finest in the world.  Even if they will never become AKC qualified, they are loved by thousands of people.  They have been around for many years and will probably always be one of the best dog mixes known to man.
