Why The Cane Corso Pitbull Mix Is An Animal of Great Debate

Cane Corso Pitbull Mix

Many people are now getting protection dogs for their homes and business.  While there is a wide range of dog breeds out there to choose from, many people are going with a different kind of animal.  Hybrid mixes have been all the range with those looking for purse or lap dogs.  But now people are finding out that there are benefits of having a hybrid protection or working dog.

One of the most common and widely debated hybrid crosses is the Cane Corso Pitbull Mix.  This very large and powerful animal has been the center of controversy for a few years now.  Some people feel that the dogs are simply too large and aggressive to own.  While others feel that this dogs make great protection animals and can be trained to be watchful rather than aggressive.

This debate will probably go on forever but the truth is that it really depends on the dog and how much training it receives.  While these dogs can be aggressive they can also be very sweet and calm animals.  The person and not the animal are to blame when one of these dogs attacks someone.  Many times when one of these large animals attacks someone it’s because the owner has neglected or abused it in the past.  Sadly these dogs have also been used in the underground world of dog fighting and this has helped give these beautiful animals a bad name.

With proper socialization these dogs can be very loyal family pets.  They will do well in a home that has the time to take up with the animal and can even be left around with other pets if properly trained.  Something as simple as an obedience class can really have a lasting impact on these animals.  They are very smart dogs and will learn quickly what is right and wrong.  So make sure to start training your new pet at a very early age.  Waiting until they are adult is not a very wise move.

So if you are thinking of purchasing one of these dogs and you are on the fence about it, I hope this article has helped you decide.  Just remember that every dog is different and you are responsible for how they grow and develop.  But if you give them lots of attention and the proper training, you will have a well-rounded animal that will help protect you and your home.
