A deputy in Martin County, Florida saved the life of a puppy that was abandoned in a dumpster. According to reports, the deputy heard cries while patrolling at the Jensen Beach Causeway and decided to check. The deputy found a cute black puppy that’s around 4 weeks old puppy in the dumpster. The poor puppy was left there alone with nothing but a bag of food. Without water available to drink the puppy was dehydrated. The deputy gave the scared puppy some water and food after wrapping it in a blanket then took it to a vet. While on the road going to the vet the puppy fell asleep inside the cop’s car. After the puppy was checked, the vet determined that the puppy was okay and in good health.
The puppy is now under the care of The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast. The young pup still needs a few more weeks of care before it will be put up for adoption. But the rescue organization has already started accepting applications for the cute puppy and the waiting list is getting longer every day. There’s no doubt a lot of people are interested in giving the puppy a second chance at life. In a few weeks from now, he/she will go home to his forever home. We are glad that this little puppy’s life is going to change for good soon.
Abandoning animals is a crime and whoever dumped this poor baby in a dumpster needs to face the consequences for the crime he/she did. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation and anyone who has information about the person who abandoned the poor puppy is encouraged to call their office. It’s sad that cases like this are becoming very rampant these days. This puppy got lucky that a cop happened to hear his/her cries for help while other abandoned animals didn’t, and they perished scared, hungry and dehydrated. We hope that people who want to get rid of their pets because of financial or other reasons will go to a shelter and turn over their pet instead of abandoning it.
