Chinese Crested Chihuahua Mix is Smallest Dog in Shelter

tiniest dog at the shelter

This is the smallest dog you’re going to see today. In fact, it’s the smallest dog you’re going to see in a long time. This darling Chinese Crested Chihuahua mix is so small that he walks around the shelter in Surrey in which he currently resides wearing clothes that were made from him from old socks. Well, clean socks that aren’t being used by anyone else. It’s really very cute when you take the time to go through and see what he looks like and what he is wearing, and we love his new wardrobe. Thankfully, he has clothes and a warm place to sleep at night. While we don’t know what happened to him to get him to the shelter, we know he was not being cared for beforehand.

He came into the shelter suffering from a severe case of worms and hypothermia, among other issues. He currently weighs just over one pound. It’s been estimated that he is just over a month old, and no one seems to know where his family is. It could be that he was abandoned by his mother or that he as abandoned by his actual human family. Either way, he is a much healthier little pup today than he was in the past when he came into the shelter. He lives in his little kids’ socks and he does it without any complaints about the fact that his wardrobe could potentially be someone’s sock. It’s cute.
