Is This the Smartest Border Collie in the World?

Chaser

Many of us own smart dogs, but the pooch in this video is really something special!  Chaser has been specially trained to understand hundreds of English words.  In fact, besides a human this dog knows more words than any other animal on the planet.  Chaser is changing the way we humans see the canine mind.  This super smart dog was trained by John Pilley an author and retired phycology professor. The dog has been with Pilley since the she was 8 weeks old and right away he knew there was something special about the dog.  He started working with the dog and wanted to teach her words.  Now the dog is 10 years old and knows hundreds of different words and commands.

This dog is simply amazing and all that she understands, will really blow you away.  The dog first learned verbs and she quickly absorbed the meaning of the words. One of the things in this video that will really put a smile on your face is when the dog’s owner tells her to put the toys back in the basket.  One by one the dog takes each toy from the floor and loads it back in the basket.  This is surely something special and you will be surprised as well.  This very tidy dog would be great to have around the house, to help clean things up.

What makes the dog so special is that she knows how to put words together.  While most dog can take simple commands, this pooch can understand complete sentences and act on them.  This really has scientists thinking and more research will come from this canine.  Scientists believe that Chaser is learning words similar to the way human children learn to talk.  After three years of working with the dog, the man found out that she had learned the names of over 1,000 objects.  This is truly a giant feat and this super smart dog is not finished learning yet.  Who knows, with a few more years of working with the animal, this dog might just start talking.  So if you want to check out this intelligent canine, then watch the video below.
