Courtesy of Peace Love and Pitbulls, a training and rescue organization in Las Vegas, here’s pit bull puppy Bandit trying to get the hang of a treadmill as one of his adult pack members uses it. This is a great example of a puppy learning instinctually. Notice how Bandit watches the grown-up dog and tries to follow his example. He also doesn’t let a few setbacks get in the way of his determination. All the while, the other adults in the pack are watchful, but avoid interfering. Bandit is naturally drawn to the calm energy of the older dog, and is already looking for a pack leader at this young age — a reminder of the quiet leadership we must present if want our dogs to follow us.
