Emaciated Dog From Kentucky is Rescued and Saved

It’s astonishing and sickening to hear about how many dogs are abandoned and left to their own devices to find food and endure the often-harsh world out there. Most of the time, these poor dogs end up injured, angry, and, most of the time, they end up dead. One such abandoned dog was Hank – but luckily the canine was found just in the nick of time!

The dog was found wandering around Louisville, Kentucky by some Good Samaritans who took him in and immediately searched for someone to help – one of them was The Arrow Fund. Once contacted, they organized for Hank to be transported to Blue Pearl. It was discovered that he was a severely emaciated dog and was clearly neglected by his previous owner. Shortly after he was found, an investigation was underway to find the people responsible for the dog’s condition.

While nothing is quite known about the culprits yet, Hank’s condition is greatly improving! Since arriving at Blue Pearl, he gained a whole nine pounds, getting him to a more normal 40 pounds. He will continue on his strict eating regimen – it’s important that the dog eat as well as gain weight at a stable, consistent pace. Aside from that, he will also be receiving routine followups to ensure that his body is responding well to the new diet. Despite being very neglected at one point, the sweet dog is gaining more confidence and is clearly feeling safe and cared for.

Earlier last week, Hank was transferred to All Pets Veterinary Hospital, where he received his vaccines and continued to get cared for. He should soon be ready to move on to a foster home!
