Five Dog Breeds that Will Chew Anything

Music For Dogs At Vivid LIVE

Some people think chewing is just a part of being a dog. Yes, dogs like to chew on things. But do you know how serious a problem chewing on the wrong thing (or having it get lodged in a dog’s throat) can be? It leads to more animal deaths than anyone would like to assume. It is with that exact thinking in mind we thought we would compile a quick list of the five dog breeds that will chew anything.

Golden Retrievers

This actually comes from this breed just wanting to be active and getting bored. Make sure to redirect so they chew the right things and not the wrong things.

Pit Bull Terrier

These dogs have strong jaws (no, not lock-jaws. That is a media myth) and much like anybody who has something strong, they like to work it. They enjoy chewing things, and have strong enough jaws that they can chew things to scraps. So just make sure you let your dog know what is okay and what is not to chew.

Jack Russell Terrier

Another dog that loves to stay active and may end up chewing (everything) as a result. You keep it active and entertained, you keep it from chewing. It is that simple.

Beagle

Strong sense of smell and a love for food is what makes these dogs chewers. They are more likely to chew or eat something that smells or looks like food, so be careful what you leave lying around this breed.

Labrador Retriever

Just like with the intro “golden” variation, all the same applies here.

Just be cautious, mindful, and ready to redirect. That can make all the difference when it comes to dog breeds who will chew anything.
