Former Dangerous Dog Fighting Dog Now Saves Lives

max

We love Max, because he did exactly what everyone assumed he could not do; he proved them wrong. He was a dog that was once a part of a massive dog fighting ring. We all know that in these horrible rings, dogs are bred, raised and trained to fight. They are not just trained to fight, either. They are trained to fight to the death. The point is to win by killing the opposing dog. Max is still alive, so Max was apparently quite good at his job in the fighting ring. When the ring was shut down, Max was taken to a group called the Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary. The Sanctuary was informed that Max is a highly dangerous dog and that he would never learn to socialize properly. It was implied that Max’s life should perhaps be ended.

The Sanctuary, however, decided that they would try regardless. So they did; and now Max is a type of therapy dog that is used to help socialize other shelter dogs. All shelter dogs are properly socialized before they can be taken into a home and adopted. This allows the shelter to see if they work well with humans and other animals, and if they are good with kids and with other things found in many households. Max, once so dangerous no one assumed that anyone could be done with him, is now the friendly dog that works with these new dogs to make sure they are well behaved and properly socialized. We love Max because he proved everyone wrong; a dangerous dog does deserve a second chance.
