Taking your dog to the groomers is the fastest, most expensive way to keep your dog clean and pretty.  Going to the groomers usually feels like a long ride in your car if you don’t have a dog that likes to ride in the back seat.  You can’t have them in the front seat because then they want on your lap while you’re driving.  When you finally get to the groomers after what you feel like was an eternity, your dog won’t go in.  They know that there will be scissors and other smelly dogs in there.  You can’t get them out of the car.  After wasting an hour of your time with the car ride there and coaxing your pup out of the car and into the salon, you can finally leave.  When you do leave, all you hear is whining.  Dogs don’t like to be left alone and especially not when they know what is coming next.  Why bother going through all of this mess when you can simply groom your dog at home?

Grooming your dog at home might seem like a lot of work, however, it is very beneficial for you and your dog.  Grooming your dog at home will be less expensive which will help you save ten to twenty bucks.  The first thing you need to do is go out and buy supplies.  You will need dog shampoo, dog conditioner, and dog hair products.  You should always buy products that are made for dogs.  You might end up with an itchy pup if you don’t pay close attention to these details.  Buying a brush will also help you out while grooming your dog at home.  Read the labels on the brushes and see which one will benefit your dog’s fur the most.  When you are grooming your dog at home you want to make sure you have all of the right “equipment” you will need.  The more you pay attention now to the dog grooming items you need, you won’t have to spend more money on them later.  One thing that I advise you NOT to do is clip your dog’s toenails.  You might damage their nerves or cause them to start bleeding.  Please be aware that you should not try to do this grooming procedure at home.  If you want to trim the fur, please be careful of their skin.  Pay close attention to how close you are to their skin.  If there is too much fur you will need to trim some of it down first.  The washing and drying of their fur will come last.  The best part of grooming your pet at home is that after you wash and dry your dog, you can make them glamorous.  Find a few bows, bandannas, or even a new diamond collar to put on your pooch.  Having a pretty pet will always get you nice compliments when you take them for a walk!
