A woman was walking back from the post office with her dog when something terrible happened. As they walked along a creek the dog whose name is Yeti got thirsty and ran to the creek to get a drink of water. But the creek was swollen due to a previous rainstorm and the dog fell in. Yeti’s owner also had a child with her that she was pushing in the stroller. After she realized that her pet fell in the rushing water she locked the stroller’s wheels so that the child would not roll. Then she rushed to the creek where she witnessed her dog being swept away by the raging water. But help was not far away as you will see in the video.
Thankfully, a police officer was on patrol and witnessed what happened. He ran to the woman’s help and the entire event was captured on the body camera the officer was wearing. The dog was washed into a drainpipe and got trapped. Luckily, the pooch was wearing a harness and the officer was able to reach down into the drainpipe and pull the dog to safety. The dog’s owner was really thankful that the officer was there at the right time and saved her beloved pet. She explained in the interview that she had the dog for a long time and wouldn’t know what to do if she had lost him.
This story had a happy ended but could have ended much worse. If the officer had not been there the woman might have not been able to get her dog out of the pipe. Even worse, the woman herself may have become trapped in the raging waters and the child would be left alone to fend for itself. Thanks to the brave and attentive officer everyone was taken out of harm’s way. The dog seemed unfazed by the event and was able to walk away from the accident. If you want to witness this heroic rescue yourself you can find the video (taken from the officer’s body camera) located below. It will have your heart racing as the events unfold.
