Hot Dog Bits are Used to Rescue a Dog off a Roof

628x471

We’re not huge advocates of giving dogs “human food,” especially those with the amount of nitrates that hot dogs have.  However, if it’s case where a dog’s life is being saved then we’re OK with pretty much any food as long as it’s not deadly to the canine.  On Monday, July 15th in Vancouver Washington a Clark County Animal Control officer by the name of Patrick Higbie coaxed a small dog, Bella to come off a roof with some hot dog bits.

Homeowner Barry Klettke says he was backing out of his driveway Monday morning with his own dog, Bella, in the passenger seat when Bella growled. He says he looked up to see what she saw and there was the dog on his roof. He called 911. The chihuahua mix was not harmed and was taken to the Humane Society in Southwest Washington.

We don’t have any news yet as to whether or not someone has claimed the dog but we hope there’s a reunited story to follow.
