When Hope for Paws received a call from a nurse at a hospital parking lot, the group sprang into action. The group didn’t care that it was the middle of the night and they gathered together in hopes of rescuing the animal. After arriving in the dark parking lot, the team surveyed the dog from a distance. As you will see in the video, the tiny and dirty white dog was barely noticeable. The team very quietly moved around the parking lot, hoping not to scare the dog away.
The team had tried to rescue the dog during the day, but it didn’t work, so they returned at night. They worked their way from behind the pooch and this was the only chance they were going to get to save the dog. The very scared animal was going to run away at the sight of anyone that was approaching her. Very carefully one of the members sneaked up behind the dog and was able to get a leash around the dog’s neck. This was a success, but really freaked the dog out and she started barking very loudly! The team member walked with the dog and allowed her to have as much space as she needed. The dog was shaking all over and you could tell that she was terrified. But luckily the team member got the dog to calm down and into their vehicle.
After the dog was brought into the shelter, she was allowed to calm down some and then given a bath. The dirty canine that was once a brown color, turned out to be white after she was bathed. She seemed very thankful for the bath and warmed up to the people who were around her. She is a very sweet dog and her name is now Oakley. This dog is now in foster care, but she is looking for a forever home. If you would like to take this beautiful dog home, you can find more about her at this link http://www.hopeforpaws.org. She will make a wonderful family pet and anyone would be lucky to have her. Please share this story so that Oakley can find a forever home.
