Before we say anything, big props and kudos to the London police for doing this. We know people are very divided about the “do you or don’t you smash a window on a hot day to save a dog”. For us, there is no question. You do. If you disagree with us, go lock yourself in a car on a hot day with the windows up and give us the keys. We bet you will change your mind real quick. In this case, the London police saw a dog cowering in a hot car, and did the right thing.
The dog was literally, curled into a ball on the floor of the passenger’s seat on the hottest day of the year in London so far. It was quite easy to see that the dog was in a state of suffering, potentially heading towards death. They looked around and asked around for owner, but no one stepped up. So they shattered all four windows and brought the dog some water. The best part is, the London police actually tweeted it, saying: This dog was left in this car on the hottest day of the year with no water or ventilation. It has both now. People have been flooding their Twitter feed with thank you’s for the amazing work and for making the right decision.
As a matter of fact, why don’t you head on over to the Sergeant’s Twitter feed and say thank you, yourself. They did the right thing.
