Loyal Dog Saves Owner from Alligator Attack and Dies Instead

It’s not a big secret that dogs will do anything to protect those that they love the most. That’s why they are so often referred to as man’s best friend. Dogs are loyal to a fault, and they do anything they can. Precious is a pit bull that just so happens to be trained as a service dog. When Precious and her owner Robert were taking a walk along the Port LaBelle Marina in LaBelle, Florida recently, she saved his life by losing her own in the process. Precious is trained as a service dog to sense when her owner is ready to suffer from a seizure. She is well aware of the signs and triggers, and she is able to warn him so that he can get to safety, get his medication or stop whatever he might be doing that could be dangerous to his life in the midst of a seizure.

Precious and Robert were walking along the dock when an alligator came toward Robert, ready to attack. The lovely pit bull jumped in front of her owner and saved his life from the alligator’s attack. Instead, she lost her own life fighting off the gator. Robert was able to get away and get help, and he has his dog to thank. He is heartbroken and horrified that he would lose his dog in such a tragic manner, but he is so thankful that she loved him so much she would save him from an alligator.
