Miniature and toy dogs are very popular these days. Many people seek these pint sized animals for two different reasons. The first reason is that these dogs are simply super cute. Many people love their tiny features. The second reason why so many people want these animals as pets is because they are smaller than their larger counter parts. This allows them to still have the breed they want but they take up less space. For people who live in apartments these dogs are the perfect size.
One of the newest of these tiny dogs is the Miniature Siberian Husky. While these dogs are not considered a separate breed they are just smaller versions of the Siberian husky. They are considered a non-standard size and are not recognized by the American Kennel Club. But they are listed with many hybrid breed clubs around the world.
The Miniature Siberian Husky is a beautiful looking dog that is very appealing to the eye. While not considered a tea cup animal they are much smaller than the standard breed. Growing no taller than 16 inches and weighing no more than 18 to 25 pounds, these are very cute little dogs.
These dogs are a result from cross breeding two different types of dogs. The American Eskimo and the Alaskan Husky was breed together to produce these dogs. This is what gives these canines their small features.
While these dogs are much smaller animals they are still very high energy animals. So if you are planning on getting one make sure that you have enough time in your dog to take them for long walks. These dogs can become destructive if left without getting enough exercise.
By nature these dogs have a thick coat that was designed to keep the coat out and warmth in. This makes these dogs perfect for climates that have longer and harsher winters. But if you live an area of the country that gets really hot during the summer months, you will have to keep these dogs indoors. They don’t do well in the heat and will be very uncomfortable if left outside when the weather gets above 80 degrees.
But if you live in the right area these dogs make great family pets. They are very loving in nature and often are very calm if properly socialized. They do well indoors if given enough exercise. So for those who live in apartments they too can enjoy owning one of these dogs.
