Mom Makes Cardboard Cutout of Golden Retriever for College-Bound Son

College is an overwhelming experience. I remember the first time I enrolled in a class and had to show up on the first day with an eagerness to learn. Okay, so I did most all of my learning online and never really had to step foot on campus for any reason other than simply to take my exams, so I’m sure my feelings don’t even count. However, I can imagine that going to school for the first time after leaving home, leaving all you’ve known your entire life and making life on your own has to be terrifying. A young man by the name of Jake is headed off to Texas Tech for the very first time, and he mentioned to his mom how much he’s going to miss his Golden Retriever, Jesse.

She was concerned about that, so she did what any cool mom would do. She had a life-size cardboard cutout of the dog made for her son, and she presented it to him before he left for college. Now he can take Jesse anywhere with him without breaking any rules. It might not be exactly the same thing as taking the dog with him to college, but it’s a very close second. All we know is she wins some serious cool points from us, and we bet that Jake can’t wait to come home for Thanksgiving so he can see his dog in real life after having a slightly thinner version of him for the first few months of college.
