Dog rescue stories are the best, especially when they have a very happy ending. A one-eyed homeless pitbull dog was able to have her happy ending when the great folks at Hope for Paws answered a call about the dog. The injured canine was living in some bushes right next to a busy highway and only came out at night to look for some food for herself, but usually stayed hidden during the day. When they found her, they tried to get her to leave that spot and join them. Upon bringing her out of the hedges, the duo discovered that the pit bull wasn’t alone: she had with her a few newborn puppies! It took a few tries, but she allowed them to be taken along with her. There were three of them: Seth, Nathaniel and Meg, and their mom’s name is Iris.
In the video below, you can see Iris’ rescue is courtesy of The Hope for Paws crew, Eldad Hagar and Lisa Chiarelli. You see them finding Iris at the sound of sirens in the middle of L.A. but for the most part, they were just doing what they do. They rescued Iris and then were pleasantly shocked that the mother pitbull dog had delivered three babies! In fact, the whole family was taken to The Dog Rescuers, a center where the family resides. They are currently there recovering at the Grand County, California.
