Owner of Dog Left at Kill Shelter Has a Strong Message to Those That Abandoned Her

Animal Rescue Group Takes In Cats And Dogs Displaced From Oklahoma Tornadoes

We don’t even like saying the word “kill shelter”, but sometimes there are stories that dog lovers need go hear. Even if hearing them can be hard. This is the story about one woman who saved a dog from a kill shelter, and then sent an open letter to the family who gave the dog up and basically left it to die because they had to move to a pet free apartment. As with most of us, the thought of giving up a dog or letting it suffer doesn’t sit well with us, either.

The dog’s name is Cocoa, and all we know is that it was left at a kill shelter, but was saved by a loving soul who has since spoiled her and given her the life she deserves. But had she not, Cocoa would have been left to die. The open letter, which you can read here, basically calls the former owners of this lovely dog out. It asks them how they could leave a dog they had for twelve years in their life, just because of a new place? Most dog owners would rather be homeless with a dog than move somewhere where they had to give their dog up. Yet these people seem to have willingly. And from what we know about Cocoa, she is a lovely dog that deserves better.

The happy ending part is that she actually got it with her new forever home.
