Pit bull Left Outside in the Heat Dies, Virginia Man Arrested Soon After

When it comes to the summer heat, the rising temperatures can really be harsh, especially if you can’t get away from it.  But when it comes to dogs the heat can really be devastating and even fatal.  One case of animal cruelty was recently brought to light, when a Pitbull was discovered locked in a crate.  The temperature outside was very hot and the thermometer was at 92 degrees and climbing.  Sadly the police were called too late to the scene and the canine passed away due to heat related injuries.  A neighbor called the police after they found the dog dead in the crate, which was located in the yard of the home.

When the police arrived at the home, they found the dog dead inside the box.  But what they found next to the crate will really make you mad.  A cool fresh bucket of water was sitting just out of the reach of the dog and it was as if the owner of this canine was torturing him.  The police arrested the man 33-year-old Walter Wilson and he was charged with animal cruelty.  Sadly this charge is only a misdemeanor and it’s likely that the man will not serve much time behind bars.  A fine will probably be issues and once paid the man will be free.  It’s not clear at the time of this article what the penalty will be.

This terrible act of animal cruelty did not go unnoticed by the media and there are many outlets reporting about it.  Maybe this will raise awareness and people will stop treating animals in this way.  The dog lost his life because the man either didn’t care that the dog would die or something more sinister was going on.  Whatever the reasons are this man will have to face a judge soon for sentencing.  Wilson was found guilty of his crime according to court documents and in August of this year he will again have to show up to court.  While the dog died, maybe something good can come from it and other animals will never have to face such a horrific death.
