A very frail and emaciated puppy was found in a trash pile by a paramedic in the town of Newton which is located in the country of South Africa. The paramedic quickly gathered the sickly puppy up and took him to get help. Domestic Animal Rescue Group was informed about the puppy and took the animal in. After a Vet looked over the animal the group then started the long process of bringing the dog back to health. The pooch was found in April and now looks much different than he did when he was first discovered.
The group gave the dog a temporary name and called the canine Newton after the area in which he was found. He was placed with a foster parent for two months were he started his road to recovery. The foster parent took good care of the dog and during the first few days that the dog was with them they kept an eye on the animal around the clock. Newton had other problems and he had to be treated for a dangerous flea infestation. This was probably one of the reasons the dog looked so poorly in the beginning. Combined with not eating properly the dog looked really bad.
After Newton had gained lots of weight he was ready to come back to the shelter so that he could find a forever home. A man by the name of Ant Latimer walked into the shelter one day hoping to take a look at some of the dogs. Ant wanted to adopt a new pet in the upcoming months and wanted to get an idea about what type of dogs were at the shelter. But once the man took one look at Newton he had already had his heart set on getting the dog. After hearing this canine’s story the man was even more eager to take the pooch home. After filling out some paper work the man took Newton with him giving him a new home. The dog now goes by the name of Enzo and is very happy to be with his new owner, and is getting tons of love.
