A Sick, Senior Pit Bull Saves an Elderly Woman from an Attack

Champ

An elderly Arkansas woman was minding her own business, when she was suddenly attacked by a stranger outside of her home.  The attacker was trying to rob the woman, but thankfully someone or some canine was about to come to the rescue. The dog who belongs to the woman, is also a senior animal and is not in the best of health.  But when Pit Bull, whose name is Champ heard his owner calling for help, he didn’t let his illness stop him.  Champ was just down the street inside of a fence and the owner was at the curb picking up trash.  The attacker caught her off guard and shoved her violently to the ground.  The man lay on top of the woman and was demanding money.

After getting out of the fence, Champ came running down the street and confronted the man.  This frightened the attacker, who quickly jumped off the woman and ran away.  The owner of the dog stated that this was the first time Champ had ever showed any signs of aggression in his 11 year lifespan.  After the attack, Champ laid down next to his owner and waited for help to arrive.  The woman had several cuts and scraps, but luckily she was not seriously injured.  But if Champ had not been looking out for his owner, surely things would have gotten worse.

At the time of this article no arrests have been made in the case.  The woman stated that it was dark and she did not get a good look at the attacker.  While no one will likely be arrested for this violent crime, at least she is safe and no real physical harm was done.   But surely she will forever remember that afternoon for the rest of her life.  The video located below will show you the account of this brave dog named Champ and his very thankful owner.  Hopefully Champ’s medical condition will improve and he will get to spend many more years by his owner’s side.  Thanks to Champ, this story truly did have a happy ending.
