Okay, the dog world is about to get very sci-fi, so we wanted to ask all our readers what they thought about the idea of cloned dogs. We are sure you have heard the story of the woman who won a contest to have her deceased dog cloned as a newborn puppy, right? Well if you haven’t, it is right here. The cloning seems to have worked perfectly, and the woman herself seems very content with her cloned dog. Like she gets to love it and share a whole life time with it again. But what do you think? Is this odd or okay?
What we all need to realize is, this worked (so far). Which means, this WILL happen again. But to us, we are right on the fence about it. I mean, if a good friend or your husband or wife died, it would be really odd to clone them, right? People would look at you oddly, and look at the clone as something, well, different. So why would it then be okay for us to do it with dogs? Plus, who knows what will happen in years. What if some weird stuff happens to cloned dogs after five years, and they all go insane? Or even worse, what if something is wrong, and they all die really young? Or even weirder, live forever? These are all things to think about before you tell us how you feel about cloned dogs.
Truth be told, we love all dog lovers and respect what they choose to do, but this all seems a little Stephen King to us.
