So here’s the deal. We wanted to write a post about Taste of the Wild Dry Dog Food because it’s been rated as a top selling dog product for a very long time. So what is it? The Taste of the Wild product line includes seven dry dog foods, four claimed to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles for all life stages and three for adult maintenance.

Let’s talk about what’s in it. Apparently there’s real bison meat which is a great thing and judging by its ingredients alone, Taste of the Wild Dog Food looks like an above-average dry product.

According to research, there is a dry matter protein reading of 31%, a fat level of 19% and estimated carbohydrates of about 42%. As a group, the brand features an average protein content of 31% and a mean fat level of 18%. Together, these figures suggest a carbohydrate content of 43% for the overall product line. And a fat-to-protein ratio of about 57%.

Above-average protein. Above-average fat. And below-average carbs when compared to a typical dry dog food.
