The Top Five Akita Rescue Shelters in the U.S.

We sometimes like to stop what we are doing for a moment and recognize the great people and organizations that help to further ensure the safety of certain breeds of dogs (and all animals, really) and today we wanted to focus on Akita rescue. This dog has risen in popularity due in recent years due to the movie Hachiko, and we wanted to let some of these Akita rescue shelters know how grateful we are for doing what they do.

The A.R.S.A

The Akita Rescue Society of America has been nothing short of remarkable in their help of rescuing and helping spread info about this breed of dog.

Big East Akita Rescue

Another essential and seminal name when it comes to Akita rescue. The Big East Akita Rescue make a real big difference for this breed, and for that, we commend them.

The Akita Rescue Mid-Atlantic Coast may not have the most up-to-date website, visually, but their work is more important to them, and they do it exceptionally well.

Blue Moon Akita Rescue

What is great about this organization is just how down-to-Earth the people who run it are. They treat everyone like family, including any Akita’s they rescue. A wonderful organization you should heck out some time.

The Midwest Akita Rescue Society has quite the reputation among lovers of this breed for going above and beyond when it comes to Akita rescue. Plus, cool name wins extra points. The Akita is a complex (often misunderstood) breed of dog. And thankfully, organizations like the ones listed here exist to ensure they get the love and attention (and rescues) they need. All while educating us about them in the process.
