Walle is Crowned World’s Ugliest Dog

We did our best to delay posting the inevitable.   But we wouldn’t be reporting the news if we didn’t mention the World’s Ugliest Dog contest. A mix between a boxer and a basset hound from Chico, California named Walle was crowned ugliest dog winner for 2013 over the weekend in Petaluma.

Walle beat out other dogs that included a hairless chihuahua as well as several other scraggly pups to win the 25th annual World’s Ugliest Dog Contest. Judges said they were especially impressed by Walle’s bizarre waddle of a walk. Walle won $1,500 and several network television appearances.

Given the title of the contest (which we don’t like) owners of contestants in this contest couldn’t be any more proud. In actuality the event is fun, filled with laughter and plenty of dogs who have entertained their owners for years.

Congrats to Walle!
