You Will Never See a Dog With Double Dutch Skills Like Geronimo

jumprope pooch

This super talented canine can do just about anything and jumping rope is something that she does extremely well. The dog whose name is Geronimo, was rescued from the pound when she was only 3 months old. Her new owner is a dog show performer, who has several other dogs that she owns and preforms with. Geronimo has lots of canine brothers and sisters, so she is never lonely. Her pet mom started working with her when she was very small and Geronimo has learned many tricks very quickly. But jumping rope and playing Double Dutch is her favorite trick of them all. She really knows how to do it well and even us humans would have a hard time keeping up with her.

The Double Dutch act took five weeks to prefect and her owner worked very closely with her to accomplish the task. Now that Geronimo has learned the trick, it’s very easy for her to perform it. As you can see, the pooch seems to really enjoy preforming and loves to be in front of a crowd of people. This dog is very smart and very coordinated as well. She doesn’t miss one jump and she never gets tangled in the rope. While this might seem like a kid’s game to some, this trick is very difficult to perform. Everything has to go just right for it to be pulled off and both the people and the dog involved, have to be on the same page all of the time.

One of the best parts of this video is the camera shot from above. It really gives you a great view and it shows you just how difficult and intricate this trick is. The pooch has to jump really high to clear the long ropes and just one miscalculation and the whole thing would be ruined. This fast jumping canine makes it look easy, but in reality it’s not so simple. Timing is everything and if you have ever played this game then you will understand.
