Dog Breed of the Day: Lowchen

Lowchen_1

From Dog Breed Info – The Löwchen is a cheerful, lively, affectionate dog. Sociable and intelligent, it is eager to learn. These dogs are fearless, but gentle and sensitive. Löwchen usually learn quickly and present little difficulty in their training. Playful, they are good with children and usually will do okay with other dogs as well as non-canine pets. Its lion-cut coat makes it look fragile and rather undignified, although this is definitely not the case.

For those out there who want to know what Lowchen means, it’s “Little Lion.”    While these dogs are pretty small they do in fact resemble lions.   These pups are ideal for apartment living as they are pretty small.   They’re extremely active indoors and you don’t need a yard to have one.  If you have any great pictures, videos, or stories of your Lowchen we’d love for you to share them with us.  In the meantime please enjoy these awesome pictures!
