Rescuers Save French Bulldog from Kitchen Sink After Pet Gets Paw Stuck in Drain
It’s heartwarming to hear about the rescue of Cookie, the French bulldog, by the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue in Florida. The incident occurred when Cookie’s paw got stuck in the drain of the kitchen sink while receiving a bath. Despite the efforts of Cookie’s owners to free the dog, they eventually reached out to the fire rescue for assistance.
The firefighters from Station 36 responded to the call and worked diligently to remove the drain from the sink while Cookie’s paw was still trapped inside.
Special Operations Unit 34 later arrived with the necessary tools to cut out the metal surrounding Cookie’s foot and successfully free the dog from the drain. The entire rescue process was documented in photos posted on Palm Beach County Fire Rescue’s social media accounts.
After over an hour of work, Cookie was finally released from the sink and drain. The pictures show Cookie looking scared and wide-eyed during the rescue operation, but in the final photo, Cookie is seen happily cuddling with one of her rescuers, with a bandage on her previously trapped foot.
Following the rescue, Cookie’s family took her to an animal hospital for further treatment and care. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue concluded their Facebook post by emphasizing the importance of their commitment to handling all types of emergencies, including those involving pets, and expressing the sentiment that pets are an integral part of the family.
