Shelter Dog Covered His Face With Kisses on Her Ride to Freedom
The shelter environment can be a daunting experience for dogs, particularly those who are timid or fearful. One such dog, Lala, was observed spending her days in a state of cowering under a table, displaying signs of uncontrollable shaking. The shelter personnel, recognizing the severity of Lala’s distress, reached out to Lee of The Asher House with the hope that he could provide assistance.
According to reports from shelter volunteers, Lala had exhibited reluctance to allow physical contact for a prolonged period. However, Lee’s approach proved to be distinctive, as Lala granted him access to her personal space and permitted him to touch her face within a matter of minutes.
Although Lee managed to leash Lala, her behavior indicated the need for him to exercise patience. He released the leash multiple times until Lala was comfortable enough to walk alongside him. Eventually, Lala’s apprehension dissipated, and she eventually led Lee out of the shelter premises.
Upon arriving at the parking lot, Lee proceeded to activate the back hatch, and while it was still in the process of opening, Lala eagerly leapt into the vehicle, signifying her readiness to depart from the shelter under the care of the person she had come to trust. During the ride to The Asher House, Lala was observed lavishing Lee with affectionate kisses and spontaneously jumping onto his lap.
Upon their arrival at Lee’s residence, the next step was to initiate Lala’s introduction to the existing group of dogs. Lee adopted a strategic approach and began by integrating Lala with the smaller dogs, a process aimed at fostering a sense of comfort and security.
Subsequently, Lee gradually introduced Lala to bigger challenges, further contributing to her growth and transformation. Lala’s journey is undoubtedly an awe-inspiring one, and Lee deserves commendation for his selfless efforts towards helping animals in need.
