Every moment spent by animals in a shelter is far too long. The confinement of small rooms filled with constant barking is not where they belong. All creatures deserve a forever home filled with love. This is why we believe in celebrating adoptions to inspire more people to open their hearts and homes to these deserving animals.
A heartwarming example comes from @citydogscle, an animal shelter based in Cleveland, who recently reached out to find homes for their furry residents who have been struggling in the kennels. Thankfully, one of their longest residents was finally chosen, and the celebration of her adoption was absolutely beautiful. Witness the joy!
@citydogscle This weekend, we put out the call to help us find homes for dogs that have been struggling in the kennel. Allie, one of our longest residents, was one of them. We are thrilled to say that after waiting for nearly 5 months to find a home, Allie was adopted on Sunday! Allie had a lot of friends and fans at the kennel, so she got a celebratory send-off! We are so grateful to the couple who saw a post about her and came right to the kennel, just to meet her. Happy life, Allie! #longestresident #adopted #adoptashelterdog #fyp #citydogscle
Oh my goodness, it’s incredible! We are overjoyed that Allie has finally found her forever home. She spent nearly five months at the shelter, which is five months too many. However, during her time there, she received an abundance of love and made countless friends, which is why her send-off was so special.
One TikTok user, @noner1211, couldn’t help but ask, “Why am I crying?” Well, let us tell you, we’re shedding happy tears too. Seeing a deserving pet find a loving home always touches our hearts. @michelleloveday92 added, “I can tell she is just so proud of herself for finding a new home!!” Absolutely! We may not know who adopted her, but we can be certain that they are immensely proud to have found such a wonderful dog.
Adopting a shelter dog is an incredibly rewarding experience. It shows them that love still exists in the world, even after all they have endured. If you’re considering adoption, be prepared for the process ahead. It may involve paperwork, adoption fees, and background checks, although the specific requirements can vary between shelters. Most importantly, be patient as it takes time for pets to adjust to their new surroundings and settle into their new homes.
