Stray Dog’s Reaction To Shopkeeper’s Kindness is Absolutely Everything
Approximately a year ago, as Enriquez was preparing to conclude his business operations for the day, an individual, who appeared to be a stray dog, timidly approached his establishment. This canine gazed at Enriquez with beseeching eyes.
Enriquez shared with The Dodo, “The dog arrived alone, looking emaciated. Although I provided him with food, he remained suspicious.”
Subsequently, the dog consumed his meal hastily and departed into the obscurity of the night. However, that encounter would not be the only instance of his visitation.
During the days and weeks that ensued, the undernourished stray dog would intermittently arrive at the entrance of Enriquez’s shop. Each time, Enriquez extended a hospitable gesture by providing him with food, gradually establishing rapport with the dog.
Enriquez shared, “Over time, he gradually allowed me to approach him. However, it took more than a month before I could stroke him.”
Enriquez eventually bestowed the name “Carlos” upon the dog.
Gradually, Carlos increased his visits to Enriquez’s store in pursuit of nourishment, eventually culminating in a habitual pattern.
Enriquez conveyed, “Carlos appears every day – in the morning when I open the store, and at night as well.”
Although the act of providing sustenance to Carlos incurs a cost, Enriquez regards the dog’s response to his benevolence as the ultimate reward.

Enriquez remains uncertain about Carlos’s whereabouts or activities between his store visits, yet he remains content in his role of satiating the dog’s hunger and eliciting his joyful response. Although Enriquez aspires to locate a permanent residence for Carlos, he is content with fulfilling his needs in the interim.
Enriquez expressed, “Animals like Carlos are sentient creatures who are frequently disregarded. However, when we exhibit benevolence towards them, they exhibit immense gratitude.”
