Cop Comforts Pit Bulls Who were Abandoned on the Side of the Road

For many years now, pit bulls have been among a few canine breeds who have been getting a bad reputation for something they are not. Pit bulls, Dobies, Rottweilers, they’re all sweet loving dogs, not mean vicious killers as some people portray them, or sometimes train them, to be. And, how somebody could abandon these two pit bulls is just pathetic. How would they like to be dumped on the road just because nobody wanted them?

Well, fortunately for these two beautiful female dogs, one Florida man cared enough to call for help from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. He had found them alone on the road when he was on his way to work. How many people probably passed them by without even a second thought that day? And, one of them was even bleeding from an injury. If they had been a bag of money, I’ll bet everybody would have stopped!

When the two sheriff’s deputies arrived, the girls immediately took to them as if they just knew instinctively that they were there to help them, not to hurt them. Deputy Boggs and Deputy Reed bonded with them, cuddling with them and even kissing one on the head. Now, how many of us have been guilty of wrongly thinking of law enforcement in the same way that some people think about pit bulls? There has been so much in the news the past year or so that paints our men and women in blue as monsters who are just waiting to shoot someone. And, yet they continue to go to work every day defending the public and doing beautiful selfless deeds like making two dogs feel loved while they wait for their ride to the animal shelter.

Now, how many of us have been guilty of wrongly thinking of law enforcement in the same way that some people think about pit bulls? There has been so much in the news the past year or so that paints our men and women in blue as monsters who are just waiting to shoot someone. And, yet they continue to go to work every day defending the public and doing beautiful selfless deeds like making two dogs feel loved while they wait for their ride to the animal shelter.

So, this story has a happy ending thanks to those two wonderful deputies. The girls went to the local animal shelter where they cared for them and named them Liberty and Justice. The caring folks at Orange County Animal Services are grateful that those officers saved these two amazing dogs who are nothing but sweet and loving to the staff there. They are currently recovering from the ordeal and will be available soon for adoption. We hope they find their forever home and live happily ever after. Maybe someone will adopt them both so they can live out the rest of their doggy lives together. We also hope for nothing but good things for those two amazing deputies! If only there were more people like you in the world!
