Prepare to be captivated by the irresistible charm of Dash, the energetic two-year-old pitbull who longs to find his forever home. Despite a two-year wait, Dash is eager to end his search and hopes for a momentous occasion which happens to be Specially-Abled Pet Day—a day dedicated to celebrating and highlighting pets with special needs, just like Dash.
Dash’s journey began when he entered the shelter system at a tender age of nine months. This amiable dog, with a stunning chestnut-colored coat, found solace in the care of Best Friends Animal Society’s sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, following a traumatic period of negligence and abuse. Upon arrival at the sanctuary, Dash was diagnosed with a spine fracture and suspected injuries to his left leg.
Despite the pain and challenges he endured, Dash always maintained a radiant smile, warmly greeting new people and other dogs he encountered.
Following an initial assessment at the sanctuary in Utah, Dash was transferred to Angel City Pit Bulls (ACPB) in Los Angeles—an esteemed member of the Best Friends No-Kill Los Angeles coalition. Here, Dash continues to receive specialized care and attention, as the dedicated team at ACPB tirelessly works towards finding him a loving and supportive forever home.

Dash’s treatment plan encompassed a range of therapeutic modalities, including hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and physical therapy. These interventions were thoughtfully tailored to address his specific injuries and promote healing.
Katie Larkin, the executive director of Angel City Pit Bulls, expressed their unwavering commitment to Dash’s well-being, stating, “We simply couldn’t resist extending our assistance to Dash. Despite making remarkable progress in terms of health and happiness over the course of two years, Dash continues to yearn for his forever home. This sociable canine has garnered a special place in the hearts of ACPB’s staff, volunteers, and fellow four-legged companions. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of the rescue team, Dash has triumphed over his injuries and has even learned to navigate the world with the assistance of a pet wheelchair.
Due to the injuries he endured before finding refuge at the shelter, Dash requires his bladder to be expressed multiple times throughout the day. ACPB understands the importance of this specialized care and is committed to providing comprehensive training to Dash’s future adopters, ensuring they possess the necessary skills to meet his unique needs.
While Dash has thrived under the compassionate care of ACPB, the ultimate goal remains finding him a loving forever home where he will be cherished and cared for. The rescue’s commitment to Dash’s well-being extends beyond the shelter walls, as they diligently prepare him for a future filled with love, companionship, and the tailored support he requires.
Prospective adopters of Dash will receive guidance and training from ACPB, empowering them to provide the care and attention that Dash deserves. Together, ACPB and Dash eagerly await the moment when his forever family opens their hearts and home to this extraordinary canine companion.
