Shelter Dog Will Become Disney Star in Lady and the Tramp
It is amazing to consider the special animal that a dog is. Humans the world over have fallen in love them, and for a good reason. Dogs provide companionship, protection, assistance, and so much more. That being said, not all dogs grow up in a loving and nurturing environment. Many, for one reason or another, are neglected and left on their own. This is can create a life of hardship for an animal that is truly meant to be a pet and to live in peaceful harmony with humans.
Our society works hard to take care of dogs. If one of them is being mistreated or has been left on its own, we will do everything that we can to take of the dog. That being said, there simply are not enough loving homes to go around. When that happens, the dog ends up in a shelter where the hope is that someone will come along and adopt the dog. Sometimes, that happens and the results are wonderful. In other cases, the dog must eventually be put to sleep because there is seemingly no hope. Other dogs, such as Monte, become extremely lucky and receive an unexpected and truly unique second chance at life.
A Special Day For One Special Rescue Dog
Monte had already been reduced once. He was taken in by a shelter in New Mexico and eventually made his way to an Arizona foundation. Evidently, this is not at all uncommon. In fact, the foundation in New Mexico has sent up to 50 dogs at a time to various shelters around the country that can make room for them. In the case of Monte, Arizona is where he ended up. He immediately began to bond with the staff there. He was just any shelter dog. He showed behaviors that had many people amazed at his abilities.
Monte Was Playful
One of the first things that were evident was just how energetic and happy Monte appeared to be at all times. This made him the perfect for Lady and the Tramp. The casting crew came by the shelter and was immediately taken in with his loving nature. It seems as if Monte had been cared for by an owner in the past, which makes one wonder what happened. That makes the potential ending to this story even more difficult to fathom. Monte did nothing to end up in the shelter. In fact, he was a dream dog. He gave out kisses freely to all who came by to see him, has the most adorable eyes, and is ready to be there for you when you need him. In short, he is a perfect companion, and that is what that casting obviously saw right away. Now, he will be in a movie and finally get the recognition that he deserves.
Casting Call
Not only was Monte playful, but he would also draw the attention of talent scouts for the upcoming Disney remake of the Lady and Tramp. This is a brilliant movie was a tremendously powerful storyline, and many animals to get to know. Monte almost immediately friends with the crew that came through looking for shelter dogs to play a starring role in the upcoming movie. He immediately bonded with the rest of the cast and has been working hard ever since.
Choosing a Safe Space
While Monte did not always a safe space to ease back into a more social environment, many shelter dogs do. While Monte was not shy or time, keep in mind that many shelter dogs are. Do not expect them to all to be the same way. This is ok. Every dog is different, so give them the space that they need to thrive. After seeing Lady and the Tramp, it is quite likely that you might want to take in a shelter dog yourself. That is certainly to be commended, but just be sure that you are ready for the challenges ahead. It does nobody any good for the dog to think he has finally found a home only to end up back at the shelter. Get your mind and heart ready to be with the new addition to your family no matter what may come, through thick and thin. Then, you will have a special dog indeed, just like Monte in Lady and the Tramp.
Bringing Monte Home
