Homeless Dog in Tremendous Pain Couldn’t Communicate it to Anyone

Throughout his life, Benji, a dog without a home, had to rely on his survival skills to make it on the streets. Seeking refuge under parked vehicles and scavenging for scraps in garbage cans became his daily routine. As time went by, his unkempt coat of fur became a significant issue for him. He suffered from constant itching and discomfort, yet nobody could provide him with any relief.
The video (below) showcases a team of rescue volunteers who embark on a mission to save Benji. Unfortunately, Benji has an innate fear of humans chasing him, causing him to flee and seek refuge in hiding spots. Despite his reluctance to cooperate, the rescue team persists in their efforts to save him.

Following considerable effort, one of the rescuers manages to touch Benji. As the woman lays her hand on him, she can sense the poor dog’s discomfort caused by his matted fur. With a determination to earn his trust, she endeavors to approach him gently. Eventually, her persistence pays off, and Benji starts to trust her. Overcoming his fear, he walks towards the rescuer and enters the rescue van with her.

As soon as Benji was rescued, he was transported to the shelter, where the caretakers promptly began to remove the matted fur that had accumulated over his entire life. While shaving off the fur, they discovered a multitude of tiny parasites consuming Benji’s skin in various areas, leaving them stunned and appalled. It must have been a harrowing experience for Benji to endure such a prolonged flea infestation.

Afterwards, Benji underwent his first bath, where the caretakers thoroughly cleaned him, ridding him of all the parasites that had plagued him for so long. Despite this, Benji remained uncharacteristically subdued following his rescue. It was as if his spirit had become detached and closed off from the world due to the traumatic experiences he had suffered on the streets.
This is where Benji’s foster family came into the picture. With patience and persistence, they slowly helped the traumatized dog learn to trust and love again. In time, he became not only attached to his foster family but also protective of his furry siblings. It was a remarkable transformation for Benji, who had once lived a solitary life on the streets. Hopefully, Benji will find a loving forever home that recognizes his nature and loyalty.
