Extremely Emaciated Great Dane Makes Miraculous Recovery at Arizona Shelter
With a heart full of hope and gratitude, we can share the uplifting story of a Great Dane mix puppy named “Lucky” who has come a long way since his challenging start in life. Despite being found near a dumpster in February and facing some initial struggles, this 7-month-old pup has made a remarkable recovery in a short amount of time.
Thanks to the loving care he received at a local veterinary clinic and the support of the Arizona Humane Society, Lucky is now ready to find his forever home and bring joy to a lucky family.
Upon discovery of the puppy by technicians from the Arizona Humane Society, he was subsequently transported to the shelter’s trauma hospital for assessment. Following a thorough evaluation by attending veterinarians, it was determined that the puppy, now known as Lucky, was severely dehydrated, emaciated, and afflicted with abrasions and sores.
Lucky’s medical examination yielded a body score condition of 1 out of 9, indicative of a grave state of physical debilitation wherein he was barely able to support his own weight, as stated in a press release.
After undergoing extensive treatment for his dehydration and injuries, and being placed on a comprehensive feeding regimen, Lucky’s health has shown substantial improvement. Over a period of nearly two months, Lucky’s weight has increased almost threefold, reflecting a marked recovery in his overall well-being.
Following the successful stabilization of his health, Lucky was transferred to a foster home, where he continued to gain strength and resilience. The Arizona Humane Society has announced that Lucky is now in excellent health and is available for adoption to a permanent home. Interested parties may access further information regarding Lucky and other animals in need of a loving home via the shelter’s website.
